Frankie Manning's "Really Swingin'"
Songs to get you started.

Count Basie "The Best of Early Basie"
Basie... young and classic swing.

Count Basie "At Newport"
Basie... older, calmer.

Chick Webb "Spinnin' the Webb"
Chick was the house band at the Savoy ballroom. Need I say more?

Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra "Live in Swing City"
Very popular modern CD. Many great recreations of Duke Ellington's tunes.

Ella & Basie "On the Sunny Side of the Street"
Many great songs at low tempos.

Ella & Louis "Complete on Verve"
See Ella & Basie... subtract Basie, add Louis.

George Gee "Swingin' Live!"
Modern band, smooth, dance-friendly style.

Jimmy Witherspoon "Singin' The Blues"
Jimmy gets his groove on.

Joe Salzano and the Blue Devils "Savoy Nights"
From Ithaca... but none of the band members have dreadlocks. In fact, Joe's band is one of the best in the land nowadays.

Slim Gaillard "1937-1938"
Slim (and his cohort Slam Stewart) played the music for THE legendary Lindy Hop video clip: Hellzapoppin'.
